"I purchased this pack for deep hunts in the Adirondack mountains for whitetail. Check the picture. What’s in it? So far 2xl pyre bibs, 3xl pyre jacket, bonfire neck gaiter, latitudes entire lonestar saddle kit, platform saddle 4 sticks knee pads the works. Grunt calls knives, rubber gloves. 6x8 tarp. Extra rope. Extra socks. Gloves. Orange stocking cap. Lighter, license, flashlight, game bags. I was worried this bag wouldn’t hold my clothes for the long hike in. But it all fits with room to spare. Easily fitting a caped buck and all the deboned meat in it with the extension."

Antelope review
"The bag has great construction and is perfect for day hunts that might require packing out an animal. The straps are really comfortable and I appreciate the streamlined design. I do wish it had a little bit more capacity and that the shoulder straps didnt make so much noise when hiking but its perfect for what I need. If it had more space I think it would encourage more packing and just make the pack heavier. I would appreciate a few more internal pockets to hold small items"

Great and comfortable! But…
"Pack is great and comftorable. Took it on a 8 mile hike out in Trinity looking for blacktail with about 40-50 lbs in it. The only issues I have are I wish the bottom of the pack had a way to gain access so I don’t have to pull everything out to get something from the bottom. My biggest issue is that it is very squeaky. I have to posture certain ways to minimize the squeak when I’m trying to be quiet. All in all I’d still recommend this pack for a day or a 1-2 day pack in."

New Elk Season Pack
"From using a MRK6 pack the past three elk seasons, I needed something smaller while still utilizing a meat shelf. For context, I am 6' 4" and 220 lbs. Therefore, larger torso where the MRK6 fit like a glove. While the MRK6 allows for more gear, my main use was for day hikes rather than multiple overnights in the field. I purchased the MRK6 as I mainly elk hunt but the weight became cumbersome. For our recent mule deer hunt in Arizona, I purchased the MRK2 pack to test the functionality, weight, and overall performance. After multiple hikes, I think I have found the pack! The overall weight of the pack w/ frame is much more manageable than the MRK6. Even with the same gear transferred from the MRK6 to the MRK2, I noticed a considerable weight difference. I never experience pain in my shoulders, lower back, or increased fatigue due to the weight of the pack. The gear I carried inside the pack consisted of game bags, 550 chord, multiple knives, tarp, camping stool, portable charger with cable, head lamp with extra batteries, bottle of water, rain cover, rain jacket and of course our tags. We also installed the small Badlands pouches on the waste belt for ease of access to gear. Overall, I loved the pack during the mule deer hunt, and cannot wait for upcoming elk season to really push the limits of the pack! The only suggestion would be to add a built in rain cover just above the shoulders. As seen in many bino harnesses, a built in rain cover, within a pouch, would serve a great purpose for quick installation, and reduce one more item taking up space within the pack."

Compact Design
"Like all, Badlands Packs, the Mrk 2’s fit and finish is top-notch. Designed to conveniently convert from a day to a meat pack. Rugged yet light. Only two negatives; doesn’t have exterior scope/tripod pocket and the belt is too narrow for my 34” waistline. Even though the belt is expandable from medium to large, it still have big enough. It would be nice if Badlands offered an option for a larger belt. , so that one can add their waist-belt pocket, alone with a holster."
