Reviews

the best pack that i have ever used

"I bought this pack about 8-10 yrs ago. My brother decided to upgrade me to an eberstock skycrane which i only used the little brother portion of the backpack. After a few trips with the eberstock i went back the the badlands 2200. The eberstock is probably good for military missions but the badlands is better for hunting. Badlands makes a really good pack. it handles my hunting needs perfectly"

Becoming one with the bag

"I just got this bag a few weeks ago and got it geared up with all my hunting stuff. I haven't been hunting yet due to the off season but I've been training (workouts) with it. Its really helped in getting all the adjustments of which there are many dialed into my body. Lots of hiking, heavy incline, and hauling sandbags around with it and I'm feeling i'm becoming one with the bag. Worked out all the hotspots and organized gear in a way that makes sense. Highly recommend at this point and I expect it to be a fun fall."

Excellent weight distribution

"This pack is versatile, and distributes weight very evenly across the hips, reducing back strain. I've yet to pack game meat on it, but hoping to get that chance this fall!"

Well designed pack!

"I have used a buddy's 2200 in the past and was impressed with the features, so I was convinced to buy one for myself."

Amazing, feature filled pack.

"Really really great pack with a ton of features. Build quality is amazing. Batwing design is excellent. Size and capabilities are awesome. I would just make two small changes - I would make the hydration bladder 3L instead of 2, and I would make the gun holster/side pockets a little more of a 3 oclock draw and less 4/5 oclock. Also the gun strap could be longer, others have said this but its very tight on a full frame gun. But I’m nitpicking, I still give this pack 5 stars and I look forward to using it for years to come."

Awesome pack, awesome warranty and customer servic

"I previously reviewed this pack and I still totally love it! But this is more about the customer service I received on this pack. I used the pack for 7 days hunting elk in CO last month and the pack did everything I expected of it. Unfortunately after hanging it in the barn one night I came in the next morning to find a rat had chewed a small hole in the top and right through the zipper. I reached out to Badlands and they said, "No problem, just send it in" 3 weeks later I got it back repaired and as good as new! I'm now a customer for life!"

Great pack

"I bought this pack for an elk hunt in northern gila New Mexico. It’s an awesome pack! Not quite as waterproof as I thought but I misread. It was also WAY heavier than I anticipated definitely my mistake mis judging the weight of the pack. 150 lbs of elk meat was able to fit in the meat shelf and everything held up AWESOME. The gun holster is a little too far back for my liking so I only used it once. I give this pack a 4 star small things here and there I would change but overall a great pack"

Q&A

If I were to alter something on the 2200 backpack would that void my warranty? I would like to make the gun holster strap longer since it’s all the way maxed out when my pistol is in there.
Anthony, modifications will not void the warranty of your pack!
Is the pack equipped with a meat/load shelf? Or is it internal loading only?
Luke, the 2200 features a built-in meat shelf that can be deployed and used if needed.
When it comes to the 2200 or the ox which one will carry more weight of gear and meat? What am I sacrificing In choosing one over the other ?
Jordan, the CarbonOX is built to handle more weight than the 2200, and the pack that works with the CarbonOX is larger than the 2200.
Does both the Large and Medium frame 2200 packs have the same capacity? The medium is not smaller for storage?
Ken, they are close to identical in size, but there a rough difference of 50 cubic inches between the two.
I am 5'10" what size pack would be best? I wear large or extra-large in all my shirts and coats.
Ken, we would recommend the medium sized 2200 for your height!
